Job Description Yale College Reunions are organized by the Yale Alumni Association and take place over two weekends in the spring. Camp Bulldog is the childcare program, held at Payne Whitney Gym during the first reunion weekend, May 22 - 26, 2019. Camp Bulldog Clerks are integral to our childcare program. Clerks help set up and break down equipment in Payne Whitney Gym and work alongside professional staff from Bright Horizons in four different age groups (infant, toddler, pre-school and school-aged). Students are essential to making Camp Bulldog a fun and safe experience for children, and they conduct recreational activities such as sports/court games, board games, arts & crafts, storytelling, manipulative play, and much more. There is no interview process, but a one-hour training in early April is mandatory. At that time you will be informed as to your hiring status. If you are interested in working the second weekend of reunions (May 29 - June 2) as an Yale College Reunion Clerk, you MUST apply separately to Job #12090. Benefits include competitive wages; a 32 - 37 hour guarantee for the reunion weekend; subsidies for lunch & dinner at local eateries during reunions; and free post term housing on the Old Campus (for current on-campus residents only), continuous from the end of exams to June 3, 2019.
Job Requirements A sincere interest in working with children and a high comfort level around them in an active and busy environment. Experience working with children in a babysitting, camp or school setting. You will be required to fill out an information form for Bright Horizons so they can place you with the age-group with which you feel most comfortable. Camp Bulldog Clerks will be required to attend a one-hour training session in early April. If you are hired as a Camp Bulldog Clerk, you must be available for the entire reunion weekend (Wednesday, 8:30 am through Sunday 2 pm). You may not work any other campus job (eg., Catering, Custodial Services, Yale Phone Program, library or master's aide) during the work weeks that incorporate this time period. The exception is working as a Commencement Usher. All External candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position. All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of the background check.
