Requirements: Cartography & Map Production: Design high-quality publication and web-ready maps using ArcGIS Pro and web mapping suites, integrating diverse vector, raster, and multi-resolution remote sensing layers Geospatial Programming & Data Pipelines: Write clean, modular Python (e.g., arcpy, geopandas, rasterio, xarray) or R (e.g., sf, terra, tmap) code to automate data ingestion, spatial analysis, and map generation. Advanced Remote Sensing Analysis: Process and analyze satellite imagery and aerial/drone raster datasets for environmental monitoring and spatial modeling. Tool & Workflow Innovation: Learn and implement workflows connecting cloud-based geospatial platforms (e.g., Climate Engine, Google Earth Engine) with AI-assisted developer environments (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) Documentation & Technical Collaboration: Maintain organized repositories (GitHub/GitLab) and clear documentation for scripts, data layers, and analytical procedures. Completed at least two GIS classes and/or Accelerators or equivalent experience. A link to a Cartographic/Geospatial Portfolio (or 2–3 sample maps you’ve produced) Code sample or link to a GitHub repository demonstrating spatial scripting in Python or R. Preferred: An eye for detail and a knack for simple, effective design. Experience in design Familiarity with brand design principles a plus |
