Job Description

This position interacts with Yale students, club coaches, and visiting club teams in a friendly and professional manner as an event supervisor and office assistant. Performs contest management oversight at Yale club sport home matches and tournaments.

·         Arrive on-time to all scheduled shifts, meetings, and required trainings.

·         Maintain Yale facility security during and at the conclusion of Club Sport events.

·         Assist with the Club Sport Office administration in Payne Whitney Gym.

Job Requirements

Position Specific Responsibilities

·         Monitor safety procedures and crowd control at club contests.

·         Help arrange and oversee other Yale student staff.

·         Supervise visiting team arrivals/departures and facility lock-up.

·         Review and enforce club’s Contest Management Plan.

·         Complete and submit incident report forms to Club Sports Office.

{C}·         Cancel games if unsafe conditions develop.

{C}·         Coordinates the scheduling of facilities from club sport requests for tournaments, matches, and practices with approval of all appropriate Athletics administrators and the Director of Club Sports.

{C}·         Collects and records weekly updates for match results.

{C}·         Collects and compiles annual reports for club sports.

{C}·         Coordinates Yale student EMS medical coverage for home matches, as needed.

{C}·         Enforces Covid safety protocols.

  • Other related clerical and website duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications and Hours

  • Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
  • High level verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to resolve on-site conflicts among program participants.
  • Ideal candidate is available for more than one year, and is highly dependable, self-motivated, works well independently.
  • Hours are variable and often flexible, 4 to 12 hours/week. May include weekday, weekend, and evening shifts.
  • Job period: Early September to late April.
Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level FY24: Level III
Hours 4.0 to 12.0 hours per week
