Job Description |
The Yale Pathways to Science Summer Scholars Program brings more than 100 local high school students to take classes on the Yale campus for two weeks in July. This year, Summer Scholars will offer two-week workshops in coding, public health, biology, neuroscience, engineering and college prep. Teaching assistants are part of a team of 10 Yale graduate and undergraduate students who aid in STEM laboratory courses, facilitate class/laboratory preparation, serve as mentors for student assignments and projects, manage logistical needs of the program, plan enrichment activities for students, and document program activities and successes. (Note: There are opportunities to work on logistical planning leading up to the program dates, if there is interest). |
Job Requirements |
1. July 8– July 24th
2. Working hours are 8:30am to 4:00pm. Part time positions are also available.
3. Maturity, energy, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in young people are required.
4. Excellent organizational skills and writing skills.
5. Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
6. A sense of humor.
