Job Description

The Franklin/Murray Recording Studio is a shared creative space for students to record music. We’re looking for one tech-savvy, organized, and responsible undergraduate student to help oversee the space and ensure a smooth experience for all users. As a Recording Studio Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the studio’s equipment, assisting fellow students with its use, and working closely with the Franklin and Murray Head of College Offices to support operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain all recording equipment in the studio
  • Train users on proper and safe use of recording equipment
  • Track and manage equipment inventory, ensuring items are returned in good condition
  • Create and maintain a clear procedures and user guide/manual for the studio
  • Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting for common equipment/software issues
  • Ensure the studio remains clean and organized (e.g., sweeping floor, emptying trash)
  • Serve as the point of contact for any issues related to the space and escalating issues to the Head of College office
Job Requirements

Must be a Franklin or Murray undergraduate student. Comfortable with audio recording technology, software, and troubleshooting. Strong organizational and communication skills. Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently. Experience with audio equipment or media production is a plus. 

Compensation $17.00/hour, Requires Higher level of technical skill.
Job Level CY25: Level II
Hours 5.0 to 10.0 hours per week
