The Education Department seeks a graduate student with an interest in music and art to serve as the Robert and Jean Steele Intern. The intern will work with Jessica Sack, the Jan and Frederick Mayer Curator of Public Education, to help with research for a number of projects looking at connections between music and art for K–12, university, and adult audiences in preparation for in-gallery teaching activities that connect listening to music while looking at art. The Steele Intern will also help collect and archive materials from previous music- and art-related projects in preparation for future publication. Candidates must have excellent research, organizational, and communications skills; an enthusiastic attitude toward art, learning, and museums; and an interest in connections between art and music. The Steele Internship supports American Yale graduate students from historically underrepresented backgrounds (particularly students of color) for 7–10 hours per week, over the course of one year during the academic year.
