Job Description

The Beanjamin is a student-run café located above the Franklin dining hall, serving a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and light snacks. It’s a warm, welcoming space where students can grab a drink, study, or catch up with friends. We’re looking for dependable, enthusiastic Franklin students to join our team and help create a positive and efficient café experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and baked goods
  • Operate café equipment safely and responsibly (e.g., espresso machine, coffee grinder, toaster oven)
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and seating areas
  • Restock supplies (cups, syrups, pastries, etc.) and assist with inventory as needed
  • Lift and move items up to 20 lbs during restocking and cleaning
  • Provide friendly, respectful, and efficient customer service
  • Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines at all times
  • Complete opening and/or closing duties depending on shift
  • Work independently and remain on task without close supervision
Job Requirements

Must be a Franklin student. Dependable, hard working, and dedicated to offering great customer service. Willing and able to lift 20+ lbs for stocking and cleaning. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety. Prior experience in a café, food service, or barista role is a plus—but not required.
Compensation $16.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level I
Hours 3.0 to 5.0 hours per week
