Job Description

The Yale Office of Sustainability seeks a skilled Photographer (5-8 hours/week) to create visual content for our websites, e-newsletters, social media, and print publications. We’re looking for an experienced photographer with an artistic eye to capture the people and places at the center of Yale’s ambitious sustainability plans. Reporting to the Communications Officer, the responsibilities of the photographer will include: 
- Participating in weekly meetings to plan photography assignments and other editorial content 
– Photography in support of Yale Sustainability news articles, explainers, e-newsletters, social media, and print products, as well as coverage at special events such as Celebrate Sustainability Week (October) and Earth Week (April).
– Proposing ideas for the photography projects or series related to Yale sustainability initiatives
– Other photography as needed

 

Job Requirements

This position is open to all undergraduate, graduate and professional school students. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with proven photography skills who is equally comfortable shooting with a phone or DSLR camera, and who is versed in Adobe Creative Suite editing software. Familiarity with sustainability (particularly at Yale) is preferred, but not necessary. Candidate should have the ability to create eye-catching photos and turn them around on tight deadlines. Candidate should be a clear and punctual communicator who is attentive to deadlines and available to document occasional events.
