Job Description

Yale Veteran & Military Affairs (VetMil) supports students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The office assists veterans in accessing services and resources both within and external to Yale. The office will coordinate processes and programming to enhance the veteran's experience while uniting our Yale community.

The Student Assistants (SAs) report directly to the University Liaison and work with professional and student staff to create a radically inclusive environment though planning events, programs and services that support community, education, and advocacy efforts across the University.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We provide opportunities to be in community and coordinate with partners both on and off campus to streamline and enhance veteran & military university life. This includes curating a helpful environment in our office— which is also a working space for the military community— through taking on front desk shifts while also working on projects outside the office that make the Yale experience welcoming for the military community.

PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION
We provide events, programs, and services throughout the year that help increase access, education, and promote visibility. The SAs connect with others in the veteran & military community through event coordination, hosting events, or creating passive programs.
