Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) is hiring two part-time student coordinators who will help the team manage our post-secondary success programming for dozens of African secondary school students. This program will run during the fall semester (generally September 9th to December 20th), and aims to provide guidance and support to YYAS alumni as they navigate the college application process (in addition to some planning for other pre-college/gap year experiences and pursue alternative pathways beyond college). This position will play a key role in the coordination of various alumni programming with close support from the YYAS team. This is a high-impact position as you will have the opportunity to support alumni in receiving offers of admission and financial aid/scholarship at a range of high-quality universities around the globe and discovering varied pathways to success. Ideal candidates will have a passion for college access in Africa and experience in teaching and mentoring. We especially encourage applicants who are alumni of HALI Access Network organizations/schools (such as Bridge2Rwanda, African Leadership Academy, USAP, etc.) and applicants who have previously taught or mentored with the YYAS program.
