Job Description

Welcome to the Yale Banner, the oldest collegiate yearbook in America! In the 2025-2026 academic year, we will be working on the 185th edition of the Banner, and we are looking for new photographers to help us make a beautiful book.


Staff members receive compensation in the form of non-hourly payments, which are flexible depending on contributions to the Banner. Additionally, positions have flexible time commitments and schedules, as members work closely with their leading editor to create a schedule of deadlines that work for them.

Job Requirements

Photographers are undergraduate students who are  responsible for taking photographs for the purpose of inclusion in the yearbook at events and around campus. Most staff photographers cover our student life section, gathering photos of Yale’s architecture, student spaces, and student events, in addition to capturing photos for our student organizations and athletics sections by going to performances, events, and competitions. Photographers must be willing to attend various Yale events to photograph.
