In partnership with the New Haven Public Schools, the Office of New Haven Affairs is looking to hire undergraduate and graduate students who feel they would be able to tutor high school students in Algebra 2, PreCalculus, and/or General Chemistry.

NHPS is developing six career-connected pathways for high school students, two of them are in STEM related fields. The plans of study include dual enrollment in college credit-bearing classes and work-based learning opportunities. Tutoring sessions occur in the new bioscience building at 101 College Ave, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1pm to 2:45pm. There may be opportunities for additional tutoring times.

Successful candidates must be compassionate, self-motivated, flexible, dependable, and enjoy working with youth. The role you will play is an important one - students rely on your presence. Therefore, this position may not be a good fit for Yale students who are looking for flexibility in weekly scheduling.  While days and hours may change in the second semester, we are looking for a yearlong commitment.
