Job Description

Yale Forest assistants will work on a variety of projects during the academic year. These include: completing timber sale preparation, continuous forest inventory, GIS, and record keeping. Additionally, forest assistants will be working on a number of agroforestry projects including maple syrup production and alley cropping implementation.

Job Requirements

Students must be enrolled in a forest or land management degree at YSE. Students must be able to navigate in a forest setting and be familiar with  forestry fundamentals. Manual labor is part of the position, including lifting over 50 lbs. GIS skills are desirable as is own transportation to Yale-Myers Forest. Assistants are expected to work at least one full 8 hour day per week, which can be on some weekends.

Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level III
Hours 10.0 hours per week
