Job Description

Overview:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department at Yale University is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Work-Study Student to support various administrative tasks related to training coordination and the Clean Air Device Program. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional environment while contributing to the safety and compliance of the university’s research community.

Job Requirements

Support Coordinator: Support the Clean Air Device coordinator for the day-to-day operations of the Clean Air Device Program. Schedule certifications, decontaminations, and repairs for approximately 2,400 devices on campus.

Communication: Coordinate with laboratory staff and provide daily updates on Clean Air Device services. Maintain consistent communication with YARC (Yale Animal Resources Center) staff regarding device services.

Issue Resolution: Work closely with Clean Air Device technicians to resolve issues promptly. Assist with the annual Clean Air Device chargeback program.

Data Management: Perform daily data entry of Clean Air Device service records into the appropriate systems.

Data Reconciliation: Reconcile data from service records with the inventory of Clean Air Devices, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all records. Work to identify and resolve discrepancies between recorded data and physical devices.

Other Duties:

Additional Support: This position will occasionally support the Training Coordinator with scheduling, Calendar management, training record management and compliance monitoring. Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS department to support the overall goals and objectives of the team.

Qualifications:

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently with minimal supervision.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data entry.

- Prior experience in a similar administrative or customer service role is a plus.

 

Working Conditions:

- This position is part-time and may require occasional flexibility in hours to accommodate training schedules.

- Work will be conducted in an office environment with the possibility of remote work for certain tasks.

Compensation $16.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level I
Hours 10.0 to 15.0 hours per week
