Controlled Substances Program Support: Waste Destruction Coordination: Assist in coordinating the preparation for controlled substance waste destruction with laboratory staff and the Research Safety Supervisor. Ensure proper procedures are followed in compliance with State and DEA regulations. Application Assistance: Provide support to Principal Investigators (PIs) in completing their initial application process for approval of State of Connecticut and DEA licensing. This includes gathering necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy, and tracking the progress of applications. License Management: Assist maintaining and tracking all annual State of Connecticut registrations and DEA licenses for laboratories using controlled substances. This includes monitoring license updates, handling address changes, and managing lab relocations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Compliance Monitoring: Regularly review and update records to ensure that all controlled substance activities are in full compliance with state and federal regulations. Report any discrepancies to the Research Safety Supervisor. Documentation: Organize and maintain records of all controlled substance-related activities, including licensing, waste destruction, inventory, and compliance checks. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible. Other Duties Additional Support: Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS department to support the overall goals and objectives of the Controlled Substances Program and the EHS team. Qualifications: - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow regulatory guidelines. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with data entry. - Interest in regulatory affairs, laboratory safety, or research compliance is a plus. Working Conditions: - This position is part-time and may require occasional flexibility in hours to meet program deadlines. - Work will be conducted primarily in an office environment, with possible interactions in laboratory settings. |
