Job Description

The mission of The Yale Center for Business and the Environment (CBEY) is to inspire, support, and accelerate the transition to a just and thriving world. As a part of that work, we build world-class online educational programs and support powerful distributed, learning communities around the globe. We now have three online programs either deployed or in development. Join our team and help us define our communications strategy for CBEY’s online programming so we can continue to grow our community and impact! 
To maximize our impact and help us recruit outstanding candidates, we run annual campaigns to promote the great work of students, certificate participants, faculty, and partner organizations. We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Yale student to join our team to support the 2024-25 academic year. 
We typically employ a variety of methods and tools, including direct mail, social media campaigns, featured articles and blogs, web advertising, earned and paid media, etc. Our target audience working professionals form around the world who are eager to grow their professional networks for impact and improve their skills and their understanding of global challenges like climate change.

Job Requirements

CBEY Online Programs Communications and Public Relations Specialist will:
• Assist the Program Director and CBEY Associate Director in defining a thoughtful approach to the communications strategy for CBEY’s online programs, including highlighting the benefits and impact of the programs, and improving upon the existing model;
• Identity potential partners, CEED audiences, and outreach platforms to help us promote our new CEED program;
• Work closely with the CBEY team to promote our online programs at different events related to clean energy, business, and climate change 
• Assist the CEED Program Manager in developing a robust communications strategy for the CEED program, including responses to prospective participants, content for newsletters, presentations, and other material for external and internal communication;
• Assist with building a new comprehensive webpage that showcases all our online programs in one place
• Promote the profiles of our online learners and share their stories of impact on social media platforms and other channels;
• Create and test ad copy and messaging;
• Create/update and manage media assets and collateral (brochure, video ad, website, social media interactive assets, etc.);
• Organize and lead direct mail campaigns;
• Other tasks relating to the marketing and communication of online programs as assigned by CBEY.

• You are proactive and interested in managing the development and implementation of a marketing campaign;
• You are interested in proposing ideas about communicating the benefits of our world class online programs to the public (internal and external audiences);
• You can work independently, and handle project management efficiently;
• You are confident and respectful in your interaction with stakeholders, from students, staff, faculty, external vendors, and experts across functions;
• You follow through and can adjust your course of action based on feedback; 
• You like other humans and it shows!
