Job Description

The  Parking Assistant at the Yale Parking Office is responsible for assisting in the management and daily operations of the parking services. The role includes overseeing parking policies, resolving customer issues, and ensuring the office runs efficiently. This position helps enforce parking regulations, manages parking permits, and provides support in handling escalated matters.

Job Requirements

- Communication skills: Ability to communicate politely and clearly with customers.

- Customer service: Friendly, helpful attitude to assist drivers and address any issues.

- Attention to detail: Monitor parking areas, note vehicles, and ensure proper use of spaces.

- Problem-solving: Handle disputes, misparked vehicles, or other issues calmly and professionally.

- Ability to **stand or walk** for long periods.

- Must be able to **work outdoors** in various weather conditions.

- Ability to lift and move objects (e.g., parking gates, cones, or signs) up to **25 lbs**.

- Basic computer skills: To operate parking management software or apps.

- Knowledge of using or troubleshooting automatic parking barriers** or ticket dispensers (a plus).

- Driver’s License: May be required if valet services or vehicle relocation is part of the role.

Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level III
Hours 19.0 hours per week
