Job Description

**Job Summary:**

The Community Steward plays a vital role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment within our community space. This position involves maintaining the physical space, operating and facilitating the weekday coffee hour for community members, and providing support during special events.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Space Maintenance:**

   - Ensure the community space is kept clean, organized, and welcoming for all members.

   - Perform routine inspections of the space, refilling community supplies and identifying any needs for repairs or maintenance.

   - Report any maintenance needs of the space to WTI steward manager.

 

2. **Coffee Hour Operations:**

   - Coordinate and oversee the daily community coffee hour, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all attendees.

   - Prep and clean the coffee machine regularly.

   - Engage with community members during coffee hour, fostering a sense of community.

   - Communicate with the WTI steward manager when your tasks are completed so they may assign additional community tasks.

 

3. **Support for Special Events, as needed:**

   - Assist in the execution of WTI events, including setup, takedown, and registration check-in.

   - Work with event organizers to understand their needs and provide logistics support.

   - Act as a welcoming representative of Wu Tsai to attendees, providing information and assistance as needed.

Job Requirements

**Job requirements:**

 

Availability to work at least TWO weekdays from 1:30 - 4:00pm

 

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds.

Compensation $16.50/hour
