Job Description

The Wu Tsai Institute is a major new initiative at Yale University with the mission to understand human cognition — how we perceive, think, remember, and decide — through neuroscience and data science. The Center for Neurocognition and Behavior, one of the Institute’s three research centers, houses BrainWorks, a world-class facility for measuring the healthy human brain and behavior in action with the latest technologies for safely measuring and manipulating brain activity with unparalleled precision (e.g., fMRI, MEG, OPM, EEG, fNIRS, TMS, sleep staging) and for capturing naturalistic behavior (e.g., VR, eye tracking, body tracking, psychophysiology, and psychophysics). A major area of interest is studying

 

Responsibilities:
-    Develop software tools to support motion capture, virtual reality, and spatial audio use cases and their integration, e.g. Unity/Unreal plugins.
-    Create and offer training around the use of immersive technologies
-    Provide support and advice to research teams in support of their use of immersive technologies in cognitive neuroscience research.

 

Job Requirements

-        Ability to work independently on assigned tasks

-        Demonstrated ability to actively see complex tasks through to on-time completion, including keeping records and regularly reporting on progress

-        Enthusiasm for working collaboratively as part of a team and for interfacing with both the Yale community and the public in a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive manner

-        Ability to apply organizational, communication, and writing skills

-        Interest in mixed reality, motion capture, 3D design/fabrication, and other emerging technologies

-        Openness to learn, test, and incorporate new ideas and concepts related to emerging technologies and a variety of creative and scientific fields

-   Masters degree in creative arts

Compensation $25/hr
