The Communications Fellow will work directly with YCCCH Program Administrator to align communication strategies with the center’s goals and initiatives. This position will not exceed 15 hours a week.

  • Develop visual and written content that highlights the center's research, stand-alone campaigns, initiatives, etc.
  • Create visually engaging and digestible social media posts on current events or topics in climate and health, tailored to general and academic audiences.
  • Assist with coverage of YCCCH events, including live updates, post-event summaries, and publication of related materials.
  • Pre-plan and prepare content in advance to ensure a steady flow of information and to facilitate timely responses to emerging events.
  • Assist with monitoring the social media channels and activities, and engage with online audiences, as needed.
  • Promote YCCCH partners’ programs, research publications/reports, news stories, and special events.
  • Design timely, two-page research briefs on YCCCH publications.

Communications Strategy:

  • Help develop a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with YCCCH’s goals and objectives.
  • Identify key themes and topics to be addressed throughout the year, ensuring a consistent and strategic approach to communication.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of content.
  • Coordinate with YCCCH team to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all platforms.

Collaboration and Special Projects:

  • Work with YCCCH team to develop short-form videos for amplifying the center’s work.
  • Find ways to leverage and engage YCCCH’s various affiliates (e.g. staff, Student Fellows, faculty, partners) to create original content for our media and newsletter.
  • Collaborate with other Yale departments (e.g., YSPH Office of Communications) to create and manage joint content and news stories.
  • Brainstorm/offer ideas for social media projects/opportunities.
