Job Description

Yale Conferences and Events (YC&E) plans and executes events of all types and sizes for both internal Yale and external clients. The primary responsibility of the Event Staff is to provide general information and assistance to guests during events as well as support to the YC&E team. The position is expected to run for the Fall 2025 Semester, from September 15th through December 5th and the Spring 2026 Semester, from January 20th through April 24th. Event Staff will report to and receive assignments from the YC&E Team. Event Staff will interact directly or indirectly with Yale campus partners, external vendors, and event guests. Event Staff will act as a point of contact and need to solve on the job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision-making skills and working with diverse populations. There will be a training and information session on September 12th at 12:00pm.

 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Provide various types of event assistance inclusive of, but not limited to, transportation and facility checks, on-site registration support, food & beverage management, and facility setup. 

  • Address patron concerns in a friendly and courteous manner. 

  • Communicate clear and concise information as needed to patrons, guests, and YC&E staff. 

  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently. 

  • Virtual or hybrid event support via Zoom meeting and/or Zoom webinar 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds and sit or stand for extended periods of time, be outdoors, walk across a city campus when needed. 

  • Ability to work varying hours (early mornings, evenings, and weekends).

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service.  

  • Maintain a professional standard of performance on tasks.  

  • Dress and appearance are consistent with YC&E policy. 

  • Act and represent YC&E in a positive and professional manner. 

  • Ability to transport themselves to campus and arrive on time to the job. 

  • Basic knowledge/wayfinding of Yale’s Campus Locations.   

Compensation $16.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level I
Hours 0.0 to 5.0 hours per week
