Job Description

The Yale Center for Environmental Justice seeks two Environmental Justice Community Fellows to amplify YCEJ’s goals through supporting the expansions of the Center in the 2025-2026 Academic Year. We work with over 30 faculty and centers across Yale as well as in communities around the world to remedy the key drivers of injustice while co-creating generative solutions for a just and sustainable world. YCEJ is looking for student fellows with the ability to connect this broader purpose with the small details that come together to make a meaningful experience.

About YCEJ
Anchored by a growing team of renowned scholars and activists, the Yale Center for Environmental Justice addresses multiple existential threats whose roots lie in environmental and social injustice. We work with over 30 faculty and centers across Yale as well as in communities around the world to remedy the key drivers of injustice while co-creating generative solutions for a just and sustainable world.

YCEJ is entering a period of significant growth, expanding our Indigenous Programs and launching new academic offerings, including courses and a potential certificate program, in Traditional Indigenous Knowledge, Tribal Co-Management, and Energy Justice. This year, we are also establishing a Clinic for Nonprofit Viability, a pioneering collaborative that will connect legal clinics at partner law schools with private sector expertise to defend and strengthen environmental justice organizations and other frontline, community-based groups facing escalating legal and political challenges. Alongside these initiatives, YCEJ remains deeply committed to advancing environmental justice research and education across Yale. We are seeking passionate, talented students to join us in this vital work and be part of a growing movement for systemic change.
