Job Description

We are seeking detail-oriented students to assist in reviewing and confirming the accuracy of Brazilian Portuguese translations from original English transcripts of video lectures from a Yale online course. This role involves meticulously comparing translations of approximately 20 hours of video lecture content to ensure precision and correctness. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Read and review Brazilian Portuguese transcripts to confirm their accuracy against the original English transcripts.
  • Ensure that the translations accurately convey the meaning of the original English content without any loss of information.
  • Identify and suggest corrections for any discrepancies or potential errors in translation.
  • Follow the workflow created by the role supervisor for reviewing and annotating transcripts.

Application Deadline: September 1, 2025

Students should complete work within four weeks from start date.

Start and End dates are sometime between September 1 and October 31, 2025.
Job Requirements
  • Proficiency in both Brazilian Portuguese and English languages.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent comprehension skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to keep thorough records of reviewed transcripts.
  • Previous experience in translation or proofreading is a plus, but not required.
Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level III
Hours 10.0 to 19.0 hours per week
