Job Description

We are seeking to hire up to one incoming, current, or graduating student to work with ELTI as a Carbon Fellow to support the delivery, behind-the-scenes management, and reporting for a new six-week online course designed for buyers of forest carbon credits (“Navigating Corporate Engagement in Carbon Markets.”) For more information about the course, please visit https://carbon.elti.yale.edu/. 
The Carbon Fellow will work closely with the ELTI team to assist in the delivery of a six-week, online course designed for current or aspiring corporate actors or consultants to the private sector. The course will occur between January 26-March 8, 2026.
This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in forest carbon storage, carbon offset markets, and professional education. The Carbon Fellow will have the unique opportunity to interact with a global network of environmental professionals and gain information and experience in a rapidly growing field.
Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and an objective and enthusiastic understanding of the opportunities, challenges, and criticisms present regarding carbon crediting programs. 

The Carbon Fellow will:
•    Provide assistance and support to the ELTI staff involved in course development and delivery, including the following tasks:
  o    Preparation of the course platforms on Canvas and related course documentation
  o    Preparation of e-learning content including speaker support with presentations and video editing
  o    Completion grading for select assignments and engagement with participant reflections and questions in weekly forums
  o    Participant support and communications about course logistics, assignment completion, and other needs
  o    Help with the planning, moderation, attendance, and behind-the-scenes operation of weekly live discussions on Zoom
•    Plan and direct participants to occasional networking opportunities with each other
•    Prepare social media updates about the program during the course, gathering insights from participants and sharing news about the themes within the courses
•    Other tasks related to course preparation and delivery, as needed

Job Requirements

•    Prior training, research, or experience related to climate change, carbon markets, conservation finance, sociology, forestry, land management, community engagement, event planning, and other relevant themes
•    Interest in and understanding of global sustainability initiatives and carbon offset markets 
•    Excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Professionalism, a holistic and positive attitude, and the ability to work in multi-cultural and multi-discipline contexts
•    Experience with Zoom, Canvas, and Microsoft Suite
•    Prior experience with teaching, facilitation, or e-learning preferred, but not required
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills
