Job Description

Research Innovation and Student Success at Yale Library is seeking a Social Media & Student Engagement Assistant. Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Learning Engagement, this student will support Yale Library’s Student Success programs by developing and curating content for social media (@BassLibrary), print flyers, and other print and digital communication channels. This is a great opportunity for a student who would like to develop skills in marketing, outreach, and/or communication. Experience with and enthusiasm for Yale Library is highly desirable. Interest or experience in creating content for social media, using online design tools such as Canva, and/or photography and video experience is also desirable.

Job Requirements

Help create content for Yale Library’s Student Success programs on social media. Research social media trends and best practices. Enhance student engagement for library programming and services. When possible, attend library events with librarians, library staff, and the Library Peer Mentors to talk with students about the library, take photographs and video, and support set-up and take-down. May monitor other relevant Yale and library departments outreach efforts for possible collaborations. Student must be available to work a mix of in-person and online during AY 25-26.

Compensation $17.00/hour
