Job Description

The Student Affairs and Community Engagement Program Assistant supports the Yale School of the Environment’s Office of Student Affairs and Community Engagement in delivering programs and initiatives that promote student well-being, engagement, inclusion, and community connection. This student role assists in planning, communications, outreach, and administrative tasks, helping to strengthen the student experience and build a vibrant, inclusive campus community.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist with the planning and coordination of student affairs and community engagement events, including wellness activities, social gatherings, and inclusion-based programming.
-Help promote events and resources through email communications, flyers, social media, and digital signage.
-Provide logistical and on-site event support (room setup, attendance tracking, supplies management, etc.).
-Maintain accurate records and help with program documentation and data collection (e.g., surveys, attendance logs).
-Support peer engagement efforts by helping foster inclusive and welcoming spaces for all YSE students.
-Collaborate with staff and fellow student assistants to implement outreach strategies and gather student feedback.
-Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, printing, copying, filing, and updating documents or calendars.
-Participate in regular check-ins with Student Affairs staff and contribute ideas for improving student support and engagement.
-Other duties as assigned in support of the mission of Student Affairs and Community Engagement.

Job Requirements

-Must be a currently enrolled student at the Yale School of the Environment (YSE).
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
-Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Interest in student affairs, wellness, and community building.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
-Familiarity with Yale Connect, Canva, WhatsApp, and social media
-Priority hiring current Three Cairns Scholars or International Students

Compensation $17.50/hour
Job Level CY25: Level III
Hours 5.0 to 10.0 hours per week
