Job Description

 

The Culinary Medicine Social Media Assistant will manage the Culinary Medicine Program’s Instagram account to promote our teaching kitchen, courses, events, and educational initiatives. The student will create engaging, visually appealing content that highlights the connection between food, health, and medicine, and showcase the teaching kitchen as a space for innovation and community. Responsibilities include content planning, photography/videography during classes and events, creating posts and stories, writing clear and professional captions, and tracking engagement analytics. The student will collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure content aligns with program goals and Yale School of Medicine communications guidelines.

 

Job Requirements

 

- Current undergraduate student with strong interest in nutrition, culinary arts, public health, lifestyle medicine, or communications.

- Experience managing social media accounts (Instagram preferred), with knowledge of trends, reels, and audience engagement strategies.

- Strong photography and video editing skills (mobile or desktop).

- Excellent written communication and attention to detail.

- Creative eye for design and ability to translate educational content into engaging posts.

- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively with faculty and staff.

 

Compensation $17.00/hour
Job Level CY25: Level II
Hours 3.0 to 5.0 hours per week
