Job Description

The Office of the Secretary and Vice President of University Life is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated student assistant to support the University Events team with a website development project. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys working independently, managing multiple tasks, and contributing to a high-visibility university initiative. The Student Assistant will assist with organizing, drafting, reviewing, and editing content as the website migrates into a new system. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Reporting to the University Events team, with the responsibility of organizing and managing website content during the system transition. 
  • Draft, edit, and proofread content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency. 
  • Maintain organized files and shared documents.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and updates in a timely manner. 
  • Conduct basic quality assurance checks to ensure accurate formatting and functionality of migrated content. 
  • Support the University Events team with administrative tasks as assigned. 
Job Requirements

Required Qualifications 

  • Current student (undergraduate or graduate) in good academic standing. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and OneDrive. 
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills. 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in content review. 
  • Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines. 
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills. 
  • Professional communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with project coordination or administrative support. 
  • Interest in higher education, event management, or communications. 

Additional Details 

  • The position is remote, with occasional in-office check-ins with advance notice.

Compensation $17.00/hour
