Job Description

The CCAM Graphic Designer creates visually compelling and informative digital and print materials for the Yale Center for Collaborative Arts and Media (CCAM). These materials amplify our communications around CCAM’s studios at 149 York Street and across campus, New Haven, and the web. Materials include: 1. print and digital posters, 2. digital assets for the CCAM website and Localist event system, 3. graphics and templates for the CCAM Instagram account (@yaleccam), and other materials as assigned. In designing these materials, the Graphic Designer will work with CCAM visual identity designed by Pentagram (fonts and other materials to be provided). The Graphic Designer will be asked to assist with printing and distributing materials (i.e. postering). 

The work is project-based and available year-round (academic year and summer). Hours will vary according to project needs. The maximum number of hours per week is 10. In addition to work designing, creating, printing, and distributing materials, the work includes a brief weekly check-in to track projects and present work in progress on deliverables.

Job Requirements

This position is open to Yale students. The maximum number of hours Yale students can work is 19 hours per week. When applying, please ensure that the time commitment for this role fits with other Yale work-study or fellowship commitments and hours.  

Required skills/software: Graphic design skills. Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign are required; willingness to use or learn InCopy is desired). Projects will be tracked in a SharePoint Excel worksheet. CCAM uses the Chicago Manual of Style. 

The successful applicant will: Bring vision and creativity to CCAM's visual identity in print and for the web; Be able to work efficiently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, including tracking and reporting on progress, deliverables, and file storage across all deliverables; Be attentive to detail, receptive to feedback, and skilled in time management, adhering to deadlines. 

Compensation $20.00/hour
