Job Description

Reporting to and working closely with the Nina and Lee Griggs Assistant Curator of European art, the bursary student will assess current holdings of European art in the Wurtele Study Center at Yale West Campus and recommend solutions for improved storage and collection discovery. The student will also be involved in the planning of the reinstallation of European and Ancient art in the Sculpture Hall in the Yale Art Gallery building, contributing to the project through research and object selection. If time permits, additional projects may be offered to further build experience in museum curation.

A successful candidate should expect the following: 

  • If needed, transportation will be arranged between Yale West Campus and the Gallery
  • Flexible schedule and work arrangement

  • Projects may be tailored to the interests and strengths of the student
Job Requirements

A successful candidate must demonstrate the following: 

  • A keen interest in museum curation, especially in the field of European Art
  • Research skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
